Doulgas Home

My name is Hannah Mattioda. I have resided in Moraga my entire life. I attended Campolindo then to St. Mary’s where I received a degree in Business Administration. Not only have I attended Moraga schools but I have worked for two of Moraga’s small businesses, including ACE with Bill Snider and Sisi’s Cafe with Cathy and Aldo Corsy.
To continue, I did an internship with the SBA (Small Business Administration) where I gained an interest in small business operations and their success. Currently, I work in Moraga (shocker, I know), for a general contractor named Cameron Builders, Inc. that does tenant improvements in hospitals. We specialize in diagnostic imaging and work mostly for UCSF Medical Center. I’ve been working there full time for just over a year and have learned so much, especially about how small businesses operate and maintain a competitive edge.

After serving four years in the U.S. Coast Guard, she came to work for the Rheem Valley Pet Shoppe in January of ’97. After 16 years of working there, she bought the pet shop in October of 2013.She has been a member of the Moraga Chamber since then.

Nominee Statement: It is in my belief that it is a person’s duty to pitch in wherever and however they can. For that reason, I have a 10-year loyal participation to the Moraga Community Faire. My favorite time of every year is when the interns show up to learn about business over the 8 to 10 weeks that they are here. As a youngster, I remember riding my bike to the five and dime store to buy candy, I remember the family business feel of the shops I’d patronize. I try to create that feeling in my business model and hire within the community. I remember what Moraga was like.

Mark Hoog

Mark Hoogs

Board Secretary

State Farm Insurance

Mark is the owner of the State Farm agency next door to 7-Eleven in Moraga and is proud to contribute to the Moraga and surrounding communities by delivering on the State Farm mission: To help people manage the risk of everyday life, recover from the unexpected and realize their dreams. A former global leadership executive, Mark spent over 20 years building businesses and leading growth and turnaround efforts across several industries, including investment management, technology, fintech, real estate, insurance, automotive and internet marketing. He is also the President of Turn Appeal, Inc., a real estate investment company that focuses on revitalizing homes and positively impacting people and neighborhoods. Mark holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Business and Economics from Whittier College and an MBA from San Francisco State University.

Mark grew up in Berkeley and has lived in Moraga with his wife, Juli, and daughters, Emily & Alexandra since 2007. In past years, he has been active in coaching LMYA soccer and served as President of the Board of Moraga Ranch Swim Club, and he’s currently a member of the Moraga Chamber of Commerce and Rotary. In his free time, Mark enjoys spending time with his family – sometimes adventuring around the Bay Area, hiking, biking or exploring; sometimes just relaxing together or walking the dog around the neighborhood…and occasionally attempting to rekindle a glimmer of past glory on the court from his collegiate tennis days.

One of the drivers of Mark’s decision to leave the corporate world and open the State Farm agency here in town was to be close to home and more involved in the local community – both, helping his neighbors through his business activities, as well as contributing to the fabric of our town through his involvement in local organizations and causes.
