Walter Nelson Membership
As a fifth generation Californian, I have spent almost the totality of my life in the East Bay. I was born in Jamestown, California and spent six years in various parts of the US, serving as a Sonar Oceanographer for the Navy. I have lived in Moraga for the past eleven years, but spent a significant amount of time here prior to our move, as my In-Laws had lived here since 1971.
Having spent forty years in the Food Service Industry as both a Broker and Manufacturer, I traveled the country serving Hotels, Universities and white table cloth Restaurants. In 2004 after gaining my Real Estate license I went to work first for Prudential Real Estate as a residential agent and am currently with Coldwell Banker in Orinda.
I am a graduate of the University of San Francisco and have been married for 27 years, I have two daughters and three grandchildren. My spare time is spent with my passion for real estate and my community. My mantra is to be involved in the community in which you live and my commitment is evidenced as I am a Board Member of the Moraga |Chamber of Commerce, Board Member of the Moraga Educational Fund, Board Member of Lamorinda Rotary, Lafayette American Legion, Board Member of Saint Monica’s Men’s Club as well as various other groups within the church and the Real Estate community.

Ellen Beans Faire Coordinator
Ellen became interested in Moraga’s business community, and the retail sector specifically, in 2005 and 2006 as she distributed posters to most of the shops in order to publicize town meetings. As she got to know the storeowners, she heard their stories and concerns about doing business in Moraga. When a committee of shop owners came up with the idea to hold a faire to showcase Moraga businesses, Ellen found herself making it happen. The first Art, Wine, and Merchants Faire was held at the Rheem Center in 2006, which morphed into the Moraga Community Faire in the following years, an event organized by the Chamber of Commerce and supported by the Town of Moraga.
